SATURN IN LIBRA

Saturn is now travelling trough Libra for the next two and a half years. What will we experience during this once every 28 year transit ?
Libra is a masculine cardinal air sign and Saturn is at home there(in exaltation).Saturn encapsulates responsibility, discipline, focus, intention, seriousness and boundary setting. It rules Capricorn, another cardinal sign. Libra is the 7th sign therefore representing one to one relationships of all types. When I look out from Aries across the zodiac, I see "the other". Relationships are the web of human life. Everyone is in relationship with others whether it is a contractual arrangement or simply an acquaintance.
So over the next 2 years, we will experience the breakdown of incompatible relationships or a deepening commitment. Right relations could be the watchword for Saturn in Libra. The goal is to establish "win/win" scenarios and to negotiate to each person's satisfaction. Libra is, after all, the sign of the Scales. If boundaries are violated by attempts at "power over", the resulting fallout will be harsh. Roadblocks will appear, rather like the nails traffic police scatter in front of speeding cars which stops them dead in their tracks.
It's important to look at Saturn in Libra by tracking its transit through Virgo since 2007.In Virgo, we were all given the opportunity to develop personal mastery according to our path in life. Many people found this period incredibly frustrating since they had to keep attempting to solve problems over and over. Another important factor was that Saturn made no fewer than 5 oppositions to Outer planet Uranus ,then in Pisces. So we wanted progress but felt constrained. Now Saturn's entry into Libra coincides with the cardinal Grand Cross. Saturn is opposed by Jupiter and squares Pluto. The Saturn/Jupiter cycle started in May 2000, now we can see how far we've developed socially since then. Where have we achieved personal goals? what remains to do? Whereas, Saturn square Pluto symbolises harsh restrictions in economic systems by governments across the world. This is only the beginning. Saturn the Taskmaster confronts implacable Pluto the Destroyer both in cardinal signs. The excesses of Pluto in Capricorn of the previous 13 years are now well documented; this is the clean up.
It is somehow fitting that relationship development is needed at this intense period of history. Global business is more and more interdependent as are the markets. We are seeing attempts at world government as a result of earthquakes and floods.
In your own life, notice with whom you feel out of sync then either cut out the contact or spend less time with them. Old ways of relating suddenly seem strange. What used to work is no longer acceptable. Stop playing ping pong and walk away. Libra is known for its indecisiveness and being too nice and accommodating. With Saturn here, this approach will no longer work. It's reality time. You need to know what's acceptable or non-negotiable and stick to your boundaries.
