FROM SUMMER TO WINTER SOLSTICE 2011 - 6 MONTH FORECASTS
JANUARY - JUNE 2011 REVIEW
It seems timely to pause to look back at the first 6 months of 2011 so we can get the larger view of events and their accompanying planetary cycles. We need to really "get" the bigger picture so that the unfolding cycles from June 21st to December 21st will reveal themselves as a part of a continuum rather than seemingly random events.
If I ask my clients what this year's been about so far for them, they tell me; "it's been tumultuous and scary"; "there's no security anywhere - all the old certainties have gone" or "I feel lost and out of control".
These are unsurprising reactions to the chain of unending events which began last year and seem to be continuing unabated. There have been earth activities such as the tsunami, major earthquakes, floods and volcanic eruptions. There have been uprisings across the whole of North Africa against tyrannical regimes. There's growing unrest nearer home in Europe in Greece and Spain which threatens to bring down the euro. The economic cuts have left millions in the USA and Europe worse off and frightened of the future.
THE ASTROLOGY BEHIND IT
Between January and early June 2011, no fewer than 4 outer planets changed signs! This is truly without precedent, because the outer planets move very slowly through the zodiac making a sign change rarely. Plus the Nodes moved from Cancer/Capricorn to Gemini/Sagittarius.

This means that humanity is having to acclimatise to brand new energies right at the first degrees of the new sign. The first degrees are degrees of individualisation when we have to absorb the message of the sign and planet in order to understand it so as to be able to later act accordingly. At the same time, whenever the quicker moving planets (inner planets) Sun/ Moon/ Mercury/ Venus/ Mars change signs, they immediately make aspects with the outer planets setting yet more change in motion.
MAJOR ASPECT PATTERNS
To compound this quickening of radical transformation, there are several long term aspect patterns involving outer planets which are inexorably turning us in a brand new direction.
The Cardinal T-square: Saturn in Libra square Pluto in Capricorn square Uranus in Aries (waning in September)

The Grand Cardinal Cross: formed whenever a faster moving planet or Node reaches Cancer.
The historic stellium of 6 planets in Aries (April/May 2011) which has fired the starting pistol for a whole new cycle of freedom and authenticity
Every one of these is concerned with change with permanent consequences never before experienced on a global scale. The eradication of the old (Pluto) to support the creation of the new (Uranus) to be then turned into reality(Saturn).The fact that Uranus has just crossed the 1st degree of the first sign (Aries) to trigger events on the world axis is immeasurably significant. On the very instant that Uranus left Pisces (the oceans) there was the Japanese tsunami followed by nuclear reactors on fire (Aries). This event alone will change the future of humanity.
SO WHAT'S LIKELY TO UNFOLD BETWEEN NOW AND THE END OF 2011?
From early August, all the outer planets except Saturn will be travelling backwards. This gives us a chance to digest their archetypal messages. Saturn moving fairly quickly through Libra will be ensuring that we create practical solutions to persistent breakdowns in relationships. If we don't negotiate, we’ll meet roadblocks. By November, Saturn will squaring Neptune and Chiron back on the Aquarius/Pisces cusp. Our stores of compassion will have to pass the reality check. How can we make a difference without sacrificing ourselves? The oceans are deteriorating at a far faster rate than we thought; sea creatures are being wiped out by pollution, over fishing, nuclear waste and sonar equipment. Neptune asks us to see and face this truth then Saturn moves us to take action.
Uranus moves back to the 1st degree of Aries in mid November turning direct on December 10th, the exact day of a Lunar eclipse. Expect world shaking events.
The Nodes of the Moon or of Fate will have moved from 25 degrees of Gemini/Sagittarius to 14 degrees. There will be 2 more eclipses; 25th November and 10th December. Each will remind us that we are on the quest for higher knowledge (North Node in Sagittarius ruled by Jupiter) and away from the ego based narcissism fuelled by Face Book, Twitter and celebrity gossip.
The waxing square of Uranus/Pluto will begin to really bite as we experience the birth pangs of a new stage in humanity's development. The exact squares will ratchet up the pressure 7 times between 2011 - 2014.
A trine between Jupiter and Pluto in July. This is an extremely positive aspect giving us the first inklings of potential positive outcomes to all the disruption.

Aries
You need to broaden your thinking and your day to day experiences with your partner. The time to be the lone ranger has been and gone. What you will learn will transform you if you are prepared to set off on a quest for knowledge. You have resources so use them to deepen the love you feel and to find more tranquillity.
Taurus
It's time to step out of your own way and into your power. Not power over anyone but the power that comes from expressing your gifts and experience. You can't afford to be sidetracked a moment longer by fear, guilt or passivity. This is your time to be the person you came here to be. Follow your North star and your instincts. If it feels restrictive, avoid it. But if it feels liberating, embrace it.
Gemini
Change is not an option for you. The Nodes are active across your own and your opposite sign all year and into 2013, literally shaking you out of your comfort zone. The psychological task is to first let go of old limited beliefs about yourself then to act in a much more authentic way. Your long term partnership will undergo big shifts as you do this. In fact, you may be plunged into a wholly new way of being as a result of upheavals in this relationship.
Cancer
The mutable Nodes are forcing you to look at your health and wellbeing. You're brilliant at running around looking after everyone else, but often ignore your own discomfort. Look into your past for the roots of any problems then let it go. Stay calmly in the present, not stressed by the past. At the same time, you're learning life changing lessons concerning relationships. Understand that your old dynamics were about control so that by letting go you can make others feel much more relaxed around you.
Leo
Think of a flower opening its petals in the sunlight then closing them at dusk. It's a rhythm which you can copy. Part of you loves the spotlight and another part wants to operate under the radar. Both are reflected in planetary alignments. The sun is shining on your career so make the most of it. Yet behind the scenes, the Nodes are transforming the way you see the world. You're becoming more laid back and needing a better work/life balance.
Virgo
As a mutable sign, the eclipses at an awkward angle to your Sun will bring changes both at home and at work. The North Node in your 4th House is giving you a once in 18 year opportunity to make your house feel like your home. You might move, redecorate or have an addition to the family. The South Node in your career sector is asking you to change some of your self-sabotaging behaviours. It may be that you've grown out of your current job and need to look elsewhere. By December, you'll have energy planet Mars in your own sign to increase your motivation.
Libra
The pressure at home and in your one to one relationship will ramp up again. The best way to avoid disruption is to do much more as a family or as a couple. The Nodes are going to give you an opportunity to broaden your mind and your horizons. So think outside the box. On July 1st at the next eclipse, something happens at work which throws you off balance. Between now and Christmas, work out a way to build much more leisure and downtime into your life.
Scorpio
This next 6 months may uncover all your hidden fears about what constitutes security. Although benefic Jupiter is casting a warm glow over your one to one relationship, the Nodes and the next 3 eclipses demand that you pay attention to your income and your shared assets. Make sure that all legalities are followed to the letter. You may be updating your will as a result of getting married or an inheritance may come your way. Don't gamble on anything and spend less than usual so that your savings grow.
Sagittarius
When you look back at Christmas, you'll notice how much you've changed inside. The North Node travelling through your sign demands that you transform the way you think of what's possible for you by removing your blinkers and outdated beliefs. Part of this could come about as a result of a blip in your relationship. There needs to be flexibility in the way you both operate because big changes are coming. Jupiter will bring you job opportunities, even when things look bleak.
Capricorn
Between now and Christmas, changes will occur in your home, your wellbeing and your self image. In some ways, these are all connected. You alone can decide to create a more hopeful and happy life for yourself. The 3 eclipses will help you understand the roots of your unhappiness so that you can plan the way forward. There are always options. You seem to have become stuck seeing everything in black and white when the reality is entirely different.
Aquarius
These changeable times need you to operate on Uranus' frequency not on Saturn's. Both co-rule your fixed sign and although you see yourself as a radical and freethinker, you often become stuck in a deep rut of your own making. So follow your flashes of intuition about people, places and opportunities. It's time to broaden your life to include more fun, leisure, hobbies and entertainment with friends and family. The next 3 eclipses will show you a side of yourself that you'd forgotten existed.
Pisces
The big chance for progress will be in connection with your home and your career. The 3 eclipses will send you on a rollercoaster ride which you could never have imagined. You're flexible by nature so you'll ride the winds of change more easily than most. You also have a wonderful ally in Jupiter supporting your earned income stream right through until next summer. So, when unexpected events affect your house and home, find a creative way to keep what you love.
