2010 GOING OUT WITH A BANG!
As I write this article we are a mere 7 weeks away for one of the biggest astrological events of 2010. To say that 2010 has been eventful so far would be an understatement, so what's on the horizon to match this for excitement?
Answer: the Lunar Eclipse on 21 December bang on the Winter Solstice and the world Axis at 30 degrees Sagittarius/Gemini.
As you will see from the chart, the whole Cardinal T-square is re-triggered by this eclipse. In a very rare event, there are no fewer than 5 planets plus Pallas in a huge stellium. This involves Mercury, the Sun, Pallas, Pluto, the North Node and Mars. The stellium opposes the Moon conjunct the South Node in the last degree of Gemini then squares Jupiter and Uranus at the end of Pisces. Adding to the pressure, Juno the archetype of committed relationships is making an opposition to Jupiter and Uranus whilst being triggered by the eclipse planets.
The only soft aspect is a trine from Mercury, the Sun and Moon to Neptune and Chiron.
Lunar eclipses tend to impact women or women in your life the most and indicate sudden endings. Bearing this in mind, it looks very much as if Christmas this year will be highly stressful for most of us. There is the potential for arguments, fights, assaults mixed into a toxic cocktail by out of control emotional reactions. With Juno involved, we could see many splits and divorces at the time of year when family relationships are always under pressure.
The impact of this eclipse will last for 6 months and birth us into a new reality, whether we like it or not. If you attempt to resist the changes, your suffering will increase.
Continuing the theme of radical change, the second eclipse of this pair is on 4 January at 13 degrees Capricorn. It's a Solar Eclipse, heralding a new beginning and affecting men more than women. This time, there are 6 planets in Capricorn plus Venus squaring Neptune and Chiron. I will do an analysis of this eclipse nearer the time.
SUGGESTIONS FOR COPING WITH THE ECLIPSES
All eclipses bring unexpected events and if they connect with planets in your birth chart between 21 degrees of mutable signs (Gemini / Virgo / Sagittarius / Pisces) or 15 degrees of cardinal signs (Aries / Cancer / Libra / Capricorn), you will be especially affected. Anyone whose birthday falls between December 18 and 10 January can anticipate some upheavals and interruptions to their usual routines. Remember that forewarned is forearmed. As a subscriber, you are reading this before it all happens and will be prepared to adapt your own behaviour.
- The clue to getting through the 3 weeks between 14 December and 12 January is in the trine to Neptune and Chiron; compassion, empathy and calmness.
- If possible, arrange to take extra time from work before Christmas and prepare for the eclipse by meditating, doing yoga, Tai Chi, walking in nature or journaling.
- Double check all Christmas arrangements and don't respond to unwarranted criticism. Don't make empty threats.
- Eclipses can bring good as well as seemingly bad news. A situation that has been causing you problems, could be eclipsed out of your life.
- If an unexpected development occurs, take it in your stride and don't rush to categorise it as "good" or "bad" immediately.
