235 days in Virgo - what you need to know
Born between 1965 and 1967? read this.
I hadn't planned on posting another Newsletter until mid month ready for the 10 December Lunar eclipse but, on 9th November, something out of the ordinary starts and continues until 4th July 2012.
Mars enters Virgo next week to stay in Virgo for an incredible 235 days. This is 3 times Mars' usual stay in any one sign. The Warrior planet moves to 23 degrees Virgo by 13th January 2012 then retrogrades right back to 3 degrees on April14th staying in Virgo until the 4th of July.
Now's the time to have a look at where Virgo sits in your Birth Chart (which House or area of life) so you can work out where the slow Mars energy is going to affect you.
Unfortunately, Mars isn't very comfortable in Virgo. After all, he rules Aries a Cardinal Fire sign where his pioneering "let's just do it" energies can be expressed. Virgo is a Mutable Earth sign ruled by Mercury. Imagine a sweaty Mars returning from fighting and hunting covered in mud perched on a tiny chair in a little parlour being offered a cup of tea in Dresden china and a dainty cake by the immaculately dressed hostess. He would be completely out of his comfort zone, feeling restricted and having to be extra careful.
Some Virgoan themes are:-
- be practical
- be efficient
- be healthy
- be impeccable
- look at the details
- take it slowly
- do it perfectly
The shadow side of Mars in Virgo is nitpicking, carping and criticism. Positive benefits will be attending to practicalities and getting things sorted. During the retrograde period (between January 24th and April14th) we will all have to slow right down. Trying to force things through will absolutely not work. It will simply increase your stress levels. All the Mutable signs (Gemini /Virgo /Sagittarius /Pisces) will be affected. It will be an opportunity to really improve your life in these 4 Houses.
Wherever Mars impacts on your Birth Chart and your world, you need to ask yourself “Am I acting from the highest motivation? Am I walking my talk or just talking." Remember, Mars expresses our power and our will to survive and thrive. How do you get what you want? Do you feel strong enough to be your own authority or do you feel pushed around or victimised? Suppressed energy often leaks out via resentment, criticism or rage .This is the perfect time to adjust your "power control" button so it's in perfect balance. You can set strong boundaries about what is negotiable and non-negotiable whilst staying flexible and open to compromise - on your own terms.
Collectively, this long Mars transit will forge more ways of collaborating against wars, violence and power plays by governments and the media. The Strong Will is replaced by Skilful Will.
Those of you born between 1965 - 1967 will have a huge role to play in this.
Why? When you were born, two outer planets Uranus and Pluto were conjunct (together) in Virgo opposite Saturn and Chiron in Pisces. - something of a powerfully unique combination! You've needed to tread your own path through countless times of pain and being misunderstood. You have intense ideals.
Mars will of course conjunct your natal Pluto/Uranus twice; once between 25th December and January 13th then again between June - July 2012. As it does it will oppose your natal Saturn/Chiron. It's as if you've been waiting until this time of your life to collectively express your drive for ethics, fairness and change. I'm sure you've already been feeling big changes coming through, like the distant rumbling of thunder.
Not only that but we're just starting a series of 7 squares between Uranus and Pluto between now and 2015.This is the first square since your birth in the sixties so is incredibly powerful. The waxing square always pushes for root and branch change. The sixties revolutionised our values, our music and our politics. We're already seeing protests, demonstrations, sit-ins and revolutions and this is absolutely nothing compared to what will happen almost organically over the next 3 years.
So look at where Pluto/Uranus is in your Birth Chart and then at where Capricorn and Aries are; this is where you'll be driven to make radical changes.
